Rental Guide: Type of Machinery and its Function (Part 2)
Machinery introduction part 2; let’s check out 3 more types of machineries and their main function!
Click here if you want to read on part 1 where we shared about common machineries at construction site (mobile crane, backhoe, excavator).

Dozer
Also called a dozer or crawler loader, a bulldozer and is an ideal piece of equipment for rough terrain. It is a powerful demolition and pushing machine that is often used for construction and mining projects. Dozers are used mainly for earthmoving, including digging, excavation and levelling dirt.
Bulldozers move on heavy metal tracks which make it ideal for rough terrain but should not be used on finished concrete or asphalt. They are popular pieces of equipment for road building, clearing a worksite of rubble and debris or for other forms of heavy-duty maintenance like tearing up asphalt.

Forklift
A forklift is also called a lift truck, forklift truck, and fork truck. A forklift is a primarily industrial vehicle that uses a two-pronged forked front attachment to lift materials. Often, that material is on a wooden platform or pallet.
The forks are often used to move products and materials that are on a pallet or other platform. A forklift has the capability to lift material up and down. Unlike other machines that can be fitted with a forked attachment – such as a telehandler – the forklift is beneficial for projects that require a lot of material-moving.
While you may only picture a forklift in a warehouse, the forklift actually has many connections to the construction industry. Whether it’s loading supplies to be shipped to a construction site or stacking timber, bricks or other materials, the industry relies heavily on these machines.

Aerial Platform
Whenever a project calls for work at elevated heights, contractors choose an aerial platform. Increased stability, easy mobility and higher capability offer increased safety of workers working at heights and can help make a project both safer and more efficient.
Aerial platform can be a helpful tool when doing projects in the air. These projects include but are not limited to erecting scaffolding, painting walls and ceilings, lighting works, hanging signs, cleaning, etc.
